Biography

The Elliott Agency is currently owned and managed by Peter Mantle, an actor, writer, director and producer with 35 years experience in the business.

Peter spent three seasons withThe National Youth Theatre before going on to train as an actor at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 1970.

He appeared in 21 productions at York Theatre Royal including 'A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS', 'HAMLET', 'MURDER IN THE CATHEDRAL' and 'ST JOAN' followed by productions at Harrogate Theatre Royal,(RICHARD III,) Bath Theatre Royal, (NARROW ROAD TO THE DEEP NORTH) and Lyceum Theatre Crewe,( Heathcliffe in 'WUTHERING HEIGHTS').

Appeared in productions at The Yvonne Arnaud Theatre,(WHEN THE WIND BLOWS), Windsor Theatre Royal,(EQUUS and CINDERELLA) and The Swan Theatre Worcester, (TIME AND TIME AGAIN).

Spent two seasons with The New Shakespeare Company at The Open Air Theatre, Regents Park,London, appearing in 'AS YOU LIKE IT' and 'OTHELLO' followed by national UK tours.

Toured the UK playing Captain Absolute in the restoration comedy, 'THE RIVALS' for Southern Exchange Theatre Company. Also toured as leading man Nevlile Strange in Agatha Christie's 'TOWARDS ZERO'.

Appeared for The Royal National Theatre in 'EQUUS' in the West End.

Spent five months in Sweden as leading man Giles in Agatha Christie's 'THE MOUSETRAP'.

Joined The Cafe Theatre Company and appeared as leading man Robert Drury in 'HOUSE GUEST' in dinner theatre at venues in Dubai, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar,Oman, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh,Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and The Philippines.

TV work includes 'DR WHO' (Genesis of the Daleks) and JACKANORY PLAYHOUSE' for BBC 1, Lord Burnham in 'SHADOW OF THE NOOSE' for BBC 2.

Appeared in episodes of 'ROOMS' and 'WITHIN THESE WALLS' for London Weekend TV and 'FOX' for Thames TV.

Also played King Uther Pendragon, in 'THE BOY MERLIN' for Thames TV.

Film work includes; 'THE MEANING OF LIFE' for Monty Python Films and 'ROSIE DIXON NIGHT NURSE' for Columbia Films.

Short films include:'MAGPIE' for Avalanche Films and 'JENNIFER' for Aurora Films.

Featured in 14 TV commercials including British Rail, Gilette Razors, Tetleys Beer, Big D Nuts and Maltesers.

Has presented and acted in over 20 corporate videos for companies including: Abbey Life, Norwich Union and British Airways.

For the past five years has taken annual theatre workshops for holiday entertainers in Majorca for E3 Productions. Also gives private one to one tuition in acting technique.

Has written eight plays, six of which have been performed at various theatres in the UK including 'The Jilt' at The Sheffield Crucible Theatre,'Dry Throat' at The Little Theatre, St Martin's Lane and 'King of The Beach' at The Old Market for The Brighton Festival.

Also written and directed four pantomimes for the corporate Xmas market all of which were performed as Dinner Theatre at The Old Market Theatre, Brighton.

Produced and directed the one man show, 'Mugg Shots' for Brunswick Productions.

Writes comedy sketches for and appears with the comedy sketch show; 'Release The Hounds'.
